I’m Brian Barnes and I’ve been making corporate videos since 1987. I’ve done work for 3 of the world’s top 5 brands – Apple, Google and Microsoft – and I won the Snippies Award for my video for Intel.
In late 2013, I directed a comedy commercial for car finance company Carloan4U, which more than doubled their web traffic when it went live.
I’m in post-production on my first solo feature film ‘The Redeeming’ and have co-directed 2 other feature films. I’m also mid-way through shooting my latest web series, a comedy sketch show called Fetch-a-Sketch.
I have made 25 short films. My psychological horror short ‘The Urge’ won 5 awards, including Best Film and Best Screenplay, as well as achieving 4 other nominations. For well over a year, it was ranked as the 8th most watched horror film on IndieFlix – the video-on-demand service for independent films.
I have directed over 500 hours of live television for both UK and South African broadcasters.
I created the Succeeding in Corporate Videos seminar in 2008 in response to the numerous new filmmakers who are always asking me for advice on how to get started in the corporate video sector. It’s such a huge subject that it took me over 5 years to write and refine the course.
